Day 1 | 23 Feb 22 - Arrive in Dunedin | (D)

On arrival to Dunedin, you will be transferred from the Airport to your city centre hotel. You will have time to explore the ‘Edinburgh of the South’. Later today you will meet your tour escort and the rest of your group before a welcome dinner at the hotel tonight.

Day 2 | 24 Feb 22 - Dunedin | (B)

Today you will explore the cultural history and natural beauty of this southern city. Your first stop this morning will be the Royal Albatross Centre on the Otago Peninsula. Your visit will include a fully guided tour; short film, presentation on the Albatross breeding cycle and short walk up the hill for viewing from the exclusive glassed albatross observatory, and then continuing through the under-ground fort tunnels to see the fully restored Armstrong Disappearing Gun and learn all about the fascinating history of Taiaroa Head. After your tour you will be heading to Larnach Castle on the Otago Peninsula. Larnach Castle sits above MacAndrew Bay and Portobello, it has an exciting, sometimes scandalous and tragic history, magnificent carved ceilings, New Zealand antiques and breath-taking views. Today, it is the home of the Barker family, who have spent forty-five years restoring the building and recreating the beauty of the 14 hectares of gardens and grounds. Your visit will include a guided tour of the Castle, Gardens and Grounds. After your visit to the castle, you will return to the hotel, where you will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 | 25 Feb 22 - Dunedin to Invercargill | (B,D)

Today’s journey will take you from Dunedin to Invercargill via the Catlins Coast. A place of natural beauty, abundant wildlife, forests, sandy beaches, waterfalls and both hilly and rolling green farmland. Along with its comparative remoteness and stunning vistas explore this magnificent stretch of Coast-line, before continuing on to Invercargill where the group will visit Bill Richardson’s Transport World. Bill Richardson Transport world is the largest private automotive museum of its type in the world. Over 300 motor vehicles, petrol pumps and wearable arts exhibits are on display throughout the 15,000sqm museum. Be amazed by a restoration journey that has taken fifty years to establish. It is an absolute must see for anyone with a passion for wheels. From here you will be transferred to your hotel, dinner is included this evening at your hotel.

Day 4 | 26 Feb 22 - Invercargill to Stewart Island | (B)

This morning you will depart your hotel after breakfast for your trip to Stewart Island. Travelling to Bluff you will meet your morning ferry for your crossing of the Foveaux Strait arriving in Oban, Stewart Islands main settlement mid-morning. After picking up your luggage it will be transferred to your accommodation while you join your Village & Bays tour. After your tour you will walk the short distance with your guide to your accommodation and check in. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy how you please. Tonight you will be taken on an experience to see the Kiwi in the wild, this tour will commence after dark and will give you the ultimately special opportunity to experience kiwi in their natural environment. On tour you have exclusive access to private land where New Zealand’s precious kiwi come out at night to feed.

Day 5 | 27 Feb 22 - Ulva Island Guided Walk | (B)

After last night’s tour you have a morning at leisure. This afternoon you will take a trip to Ulva Island for a guided tour. Ulva Island is the largest of 20 islands within Paterson Inlet, with an area of approx. 270 hectares. It is managed by the Department of Conservation as a public asset. In 1899, Ulva Island became the first reserve for the protection of fauna and flora in the Stewart Island region. It is a beautiful island, clad in forest, with picturesque beaches and bays. Ulva Island is predator free and home to a number of Native Bird species, your tour guide will give you a Stewart Island local’s insight into one of the most diverse and beautiful places in New Zealand. After completion of your tour of Ulva Island you will have the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 6 | 28 Feb 22 - Stewart Island to Milford Sound via Southern Scenic Route & Te Anau | (B,D)


Today it is time to depart this paradise island. Board the catamaran and enjoy the cruise across the Straight to Bluff. Once back on the mainland you will travel along the gorgeous Southern Scenic Route. The road takes you via the coastal settlement of Riverton and the historic sawmilling town of Tuatapere before arriving at the Lakeside community of Te Anau. You will have some time in Te Anau before re-joining your coach to travel through to Milford Sound for your overnight cruise on what British Author Rudyard Kipling deemed the 8th Wonder of the World. The spectacular Milford Sound was carved by glaciers during the ice ages. Breath taking in any weather, the fiord's cliffs rise vertically from the dark waters, mountain peaks scrape the sky and waterfalls cascade downwards from as high as 1000 metres. You will spend the night aboard the iconic Milford Mariner and wake up to dawn in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The cruise style is relaxed, allowing plenty of time to view the fiord’s spectacular waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife. It’s the ultimate Milford Sound experience.

Day 7 | 01 Mar 22 - Milford to Te Anau | (B,D)

After Breakfast onboard the Milford Mariner you will disembark your vessel and drive back along the scenic Milford Road to Te Anau with stops at numerous iconic sites throughout the Fiordland National Park. On arrival in Te Anau, you will take a thrilling scenic ride on Fiordland Jet. A journey as well as a joyride, escape the crowds and discover a unique slice of Fiordland National Park - packed with an abundance of local knowledge, stunning views, and excitement. Emerge onto Lake Manapouri and embrace true silence while surrounded by towering mountains and a view that will leave you speechless. Disembark into the National Park for a short, guided nature stroll among native flora and fauna before heading back to Te Anau. After you are back in Te Anau you will head to you Fiordland Cinema – Ata Whenua, Shadowlands screening. This brings you the Fiordland World Heritage Status wilderness you would otherwise never see. Mysterious, evocative, exhilarating and spectacular, filmed mostly from a helicopter across extremes of season, climate and terrain. Dinner is included this evening at your hotel.

Day 8 | 02 Mar 22 - Back Road Excursion to Queenstown | (B,L,D)

After breakfast you will say goodbye to Te Anau and travel to Queenstown via the scenic Von Valley Back Road. You will not find it on most maps, it is a road connection through conservation Park, river fords, farm-land and river valleys joining Lake Te Anau with Lake Wakatipu (Queenstown). Join us for an unforgettable journey through a land long forgotten by the tourist maps. See historic home sites, Lord of the Rings Film locations, livestock wandering free on the roadside and stop for a cup of tea at Mavora Lakes. At Walter Peak Station enjoy a BBQ Lunch then board the TSS Earnslaw & cruise the sparkling waters of Lake Wakatipu to Queenstown. You will be transferred to your Hotel upon arrival in Queenstown, where you will get the chance to enjoy the remainder of the day before a farewell dinner this evening at your hotel.

Day 9 | 03 Mar 22 - Depart Queenstown | (B)

Your tour will conclude today following breakfast and your transfer to Queenstown Airport.

Payment Terms & Conditions

A non-refundable deposit of $450 per person is required at the time of booking. 

The balance of the tour price is required 45 days prior to your travel date. If you book inside 45 days, full payment will be required at the time of booking. Payment can be made by bank transfer. 

If you cancel between 21 and 45 days 30% of your tour cost will be charged. If you cancel between 8 and 20 days prior to your tour departure you will be charged 50% of your tour cost.  Cancellations within 7 days of departures will incur a 100% cancellation charge.
